At the first time of asking, Jamaica's senior men's national football team could not deliver a win.

This time, the man leading the Boyz in black, gold and green is promising that they will reap all the spoils from their 8 p.m. football matchup against Antigua and Barbuda in the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Mens Caribbean Cup Finals, at Montego Bay Sports Complex today.

The Group Two contest is the second of a double-header, that will be opened at 5 p.m. between Martinique and Haiti.

"We'll talk and the team will definitely do better next game," Austin predicted, after the 1-1 draw against Martinique in their opening match on Wednesday night.

"The performance tonight, it's not good enough and we've to realise that it's going to take more to win the tournament," he added after an inconsistent display, which saw the team squandering an early lead.

Darren Mattocks made the break with a finish from a set play at the 13th minute. However, Jamaica, with only one attacker to defend, could not prevent a pass from near 60 yards to sail over its back line to be met by Yoann Arquin, who finished with a shot through goalkeeper André Blake's legs at the 29th minute.

"It was a soft goal. We've to know that when we go in front we can't give up goals like those," the captain noted.

Austin, who raked a lot of long passes in the first half against Martinique, also believes the Reggae Boyz must manage the ball better to enhance their chances against Haiti.

TOO MANY RISKS

"There were certain times in the game when we should have just kept the ball and take the sting out of the game and we didn't do that, including myself," he assessed.

"We tried to go for too many risky passes and the pitch is a bit heavy, we should try to keep the ball more."

With four teams pressing to top the group and qualify for the championship game against the Group One (Trinidad and Tobago, Cuba, French Guiana, Curaçao) winner, Austin says the Boyz remain confident of victory.

"We've to do (win) that because that"s the only way we"re going to win the tournament," he said. "As a team, we"re the ones going out there to play. We've to fix the problem, it"s our responsibility."
