Charged with assault and larceny is 29-year-old Beres Lee.

He pleaded guilty to the assault offence and offered the court an explanation regarding the larceny.

Yesterday when the matter was called up in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court, Lee said his emotions got the better of him.

Lee said: "Your Honour, a me school her enuh and mi love her and she want go to a next man."

Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey told Lee, "The milk throw away and can't scrape up back."

Allegations are that Lee saw the complainant walking on the road and wrestled her phone from her, however, not before he bit her.

In court, when asked if they were still in a relationship, the complainant said no, while Lee stated otherwise.

He said, "Yes, we are - a wah day she come link me."

RM Pusey said, "She is drifting and if she take 10 steps and return one, she still drifting. She says it is over so if she trick you and come back and link you once then."

RM Pusey had admonished and discharged the larceny charge after the court heard that the phone was returned to the complainant. Lee was fined $5,000 or six months' imprisonment.

A fingerprint order was also made against him.
