Amidst the attempts of the Magnum Sting promoters to have a clash at their event in December, it seems dancehall artiste are staying far from the customary Christmas feuds.

This time of the year is usually referred to as 'War Christmas' and artistes always seem to ignite a feud of some sort at this time. Supreme Promotions, the promoter of the Magnum Sting, have so far secured the services of Tommy Lee Sparta, Gage and Ryme Minista for a possible clash and are trying to get Alkaline to come on board.

However, selector Boom Boom said there is very little feuding taking place in the dancehall arena.

"It change because what a run the streets now is happiness, dancing. Everybody a dance, all artiste a dance. Everything loud in the streets and Ding Dong a lead wid Syvah and Shampoo and Bling Dawg and Kreecha wid Kreech," he told THE STAR.

"Right now is a happy Christmas. Everybody a laugh and full joy dem self. Dem time a year artistes automatically book themselves fi Sting but it change up now, it ago be a dancing Sting."

Boom Boom did note, however, that a bit of feuding is on DJ Sunshine's Wul Dem Again rhythm where I-Octane and Mr Vegas are both throwing words at each other, while Alkaline and Vybz Kartel have also said their bit against each other.

Bling Dawg, however, made this 'Happy Christmas' prediction some weeks ago when he said, "... To me, it is a dancing December. The people dem inna too much depression, dem want something fi enjoy themselves. The war thing nah cut it now, people just need something fi tek dem mind off of stress. A happy time."

Producer Adrian Locke from Truckback Records said he is yet to voice any 'diss' songs that would signal some sort of feuding.

"Feuds always a gwaan. At this time of year, a lot of jabs ago start throw. We hear jabs but we don't see anyone answering. I am not seeing anything noteworthy," he said.

Meanwhile, KipRich, who is known for his clashing prowess, says he has not seen any real musical feuds either.

"Mi notice it, everybody a wait fi shub out. Usually a controversial song come out and then everybody piggyback, but mi nuh see anybody a mek a move," he said.

He did admit that the dancing songs have been doing well, but he doubts that is the reason for the absence of feuds.

Nonetheless, KipRich says it is not too late for him to come with something controversial or be part of a clash.

"The year almost a close out. Anything is possible, mi still have time inna di ting," he said, noting that he was busy touring in recent times.

"Mi deh ya now and inna di season. Anything can happen between now and next week. Is entertainment and mi like do it for the people weh go fi da type of vibe deh."
