![]() AP Jamaica's Jerome Jordan goes for a dunk over Argentina's Juan Gutierrez during a FIBA World Cup qualifying basketball game in Caracas. Jamaican centre Jermone Jordan looks set for another run in the NBA after being signed by the Brooklyn Nets for the 2014-2015 season. Jordan was impressive in preseason for the Nets, coming off the bench to average seven points and four rebounds per game in only 11 minutes of action. In a pre-season tour that spanned several countries, the team ended with a 5-2 record. By securing a spot in the final roster, the Jamaican is guaranteed to earn US$100,000 on his veterans minimum salary. The player, who graduated from Jamaica College, before going on to play for the University of Tulsa. was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in 2010. Jordan's rights were, however, traded to the New York Knicks. The player has spent the last couple years between the NBA, NBA Development League, Slovenian Basketball League and in Italy last year. In addition to Jordan, the Nets have added a number of other international players to the roster and will have six international players, their most ever. The team also signed Jorge Gutierrez from Mexico, Bojan Bogdanovic from Croatia, Mirza Teletovic from Bosnia, and Andrei Kirilenko and Sergey Karasev from Russia. The Nets will open their season against the Boston Celtics in Boston tonight. |
