Local dancers Problem Squad, are the first dancers to be featured in our weekly dancers column 'Dancers Paradise' and the dancers are hoping they will also be the first local dance group to break into the international market.

The six-member group, which is based in Spanish Town, St Catherine, comprises of Jay Problem, Lee Problem, Vybe Problem, Lodge, Flippa Problem and Legal Problem. Jay Problem, speaking on behalf of the rest of the group, said dancing is a career.

"We have been dancing together for three years now. We love dancing and we decided to form a group in order to further our careers. As kids growing up we used to watch the Ghetto Legacy dance group from St Thomas and that made us interested in dancing, so we practised and perfected our craft, and now we are a strong group," Jay Problem said.

The group has performed at events in Portmore, Devon House, St Elizabeth and is now searching for avenues through which they can promote their work. They have already embarked on a social-media campaign and now wants to tap into the commercial media.

"We have some local shows lined up for the festive season. But mostly our focus is on Dancing Dynamites, that is where we want to stamp our authority by winning the competition." Jay Problem added.

The dancers are currently promoting dance moves such as the Slow Down, Ready and the Zig Zag. They regard themselves as being an active part of the dancing revival in dancehall music, and are encouraging recording artistes to create more dance songs in order to ensure longevity of the movement.
