Charly Black still tops ER chart

Dancehall ambassador Charly Black takes over the number-one spot for the second week in a row on TVJ's dancehall chart with hit single Jamaican Everyday. The patriotic hit was produced by Dane Raychords, the video directed by Dario, and has quickly become a fan favourite all over the world since its release in May of this year.

"At first, I was singing a song about myself and things I like to do daily, like drinking, smoking, putting my swag together. After I voiced the song, I realised what I am deejaying in the song is a general thing for most Jamaicans and so I went back in the voicing room and put the intro 'I am a Jamaican ... Proud Jamaican ... Man a Yardie ... Black ... Gold and Green'... to give it that stamp of approval that all my fellow Jamaicans can sing along and relate to the song as well," said Charly Black.

The deejay jetted off to Europe after the song was released and has been receiving great feedback from both patrons and radio stations. Portugal, Canada, New York, United Kingdom, Chile and the Caribbean, including Jamaica, have Jamaican Everyday in heavy rotation.

Charly Black recently performed in Trinidad two weeks ago, where he said: "It is a joy to hear the crowd singing along. Trust me, the Trinidad crowd knew Jamaican Everyday word for word. It is a blessing to see them sing about Jamaica. It really goes to show our Jamaican motto is universal, out of many, we are one," said Charly Black.
