Manager claims ... Alkaline wasn't bottled, booed |
![]() |

![]() FileAlkaline CURTIS CAMPBELL, STAR Writer Following claims that dancehall artiste Alkaline was bottled and booed at a stage show in Suriname recently, his manager Kereen Beckford says Internet blogs are lying. The manager says Alkaline performed his set without any disruption from patrons. However he was forced to cut the performance short, because the police informed him to do so given that the event went over the allotted time. "There was nothing like that, he was on stage and the officer stopped his performance. Alkaline walked off the stage and patrons started to throw bottles on the stage. When we were off stage patrons held us hostage because they wanted more," Beckford said. Beckford says the rumour was started by mischievous blogs and quickly spread to formal media houses. She encouraged media houses to do their relevant research, before carrying stories based on blogs. "The first time I heard a story about Alkaline being bottled and booed I was shocked, but I realise that most of the rumours started on the Internet. I am expecting a video soon of his performance and people will see the proof that he was not booed," she said. Alkaline is slated to perform in The Bahamas at Unity Fest this weekend. |
