JAMAICAN jockey Andrew Ramgeet had two winners at Mountaineer Park, beating his closest rival in the jockeys' standings, Rex A Stokes III in Wednesday's first race. Ramgeet has been trying to overhaul Stoke for fourth place in the jockeys' standings, but only managed to stay one behind his rival with Wednesday's double. Stokes had edged to a two-win lead over Ramgeet on Tuesday. However, the three-time Jamaican champion used ROEMP ROYALE to beat Stokes aboard AUDITORIUM in Wednesday's first race. A determined Stokes won the second race with JAZZ COURT to regain a two-win lead for fourth. However, Ramgeet responded by landing MEGHA in the fourth race to move to 31 winners, one behind Stokes. Ramgeet is enjoying one of his better seasons at the West Virginia track. The three-time Jamaican champion rider was aboard the runners-up of last Sunday's first three events before winning the last race of the day astride SEA LION. SEA LION was victorious in a claiming, three-year-old and upward, US$8,400 event at six furlongs, winning in 1:12.4. Deshawn Parker continues to lead the jockeys' title race at Mountaineer. Parker is on 52 winners, tracked by Luis Rivera, 46, and Christian Pilares, 45.
