God spoke to me through Job

CHURCH? Power of Faith Ministries, (Head-quarters) Portmore, St Catherine.

POSITION? Member of the Men's Group.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN SAVED? 12 years.

HOW DID YOU GET YOUR CONVICTION? I was in London having got one month in the country, but I told myself that I would not return until I could buy my house on the hills and own a business. I got a job sweeping streets the following week, having left a sales job in Jamaica. I swept streets for three months, and during the time I got a different job in a KFC restaurant as a security guard.

One night, I was working when five men came in the restaurant and an argument developed between myself and them. They attacked me. During the altercation, I drew a chair and hit the one that started the fight.

I was later deported to Jamaica. I was angry with God and with everybody. I was saying to God, "Why me? Why this had to happen to me?" - not knowing that God had a plan for my life. In two months, I was back in England with a different passport and a different identity. When I returned, I got a job at a McDonald's restaurant and was going to school, pursuing a degree in computer technology.

I found myself getting sick at one stage in my life; to top it all off, I was illegally in England. The authorities knew I was in the country, so I was stressed, depressed, and unable to eat, and when I did, I had to rush to the toilet to let it all out. I almost lost my mind. I was paranoid. The devil appeared to me and told me to kill myself because I would not get well I believed. I contemplated suicide, but I reasoned with myself that I would just lie in my bed and perish because I was fearful of going to the doctors to seek medical care. I lay in my bed and for days I would not go outside.

One morning, I got up and the Lord spoke to me and instructed me to take up the Bible and go to the book of Job. When I opened the Bible and began reading Job's story, I found out that Job was favoured by God and God allowed the devil to test him. Job never cursed God when his wife told him to curse God and die.

Right in that instant, the Lord spoke to me and said, "What have you lost? Surrender your life to me and I will turn your life around." I felt the dynamite power of God fill me with His Spirit and transform my life instantaneously. I surrendered my life to Him and my life has never been the same.

Now, I am in love with Him. I am preaching, and teaching the word of God. I am ministering in songs. I have released a 15-track CD entitled Fresh Dew. My stage name is Success and I am currently a student at the Jamaica Theological Seminary, in my fourth year. I am pursuing a degree in theology, with a minor in leadership and ministry.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST CHALLENGING MOMENT SINCE BEING SAVED? When people accuse me of things that I know nothing about; when I am persecuted and lied upon. I have to remain humble and thankful to God even in that situation.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST MIRACULOUS MOMENT SINCE BEING SAVED? When I prayed for healing for a friend, not being told before that she was sick. When I did, she expressed later that a rather large lump that she had in her side had disappeared.

MESSAGE TO CHRISTIANS: We should give our bodies to Christ as living sacrifices daily and be in tune to the Word. Fast and pray and be holy, because He is holy.

MESSAGE TO NON-CHRISTIANS: Seek Jesus while He may be found, because the wages of sin is death and the gift of God is eternal life.

FAVOURITE BIBLE SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 12:1
