19-y-o on illegal ammunition charge

Nineteen-year-old Andre´ Smith is to return to the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on October 14 to answer to illegal possession of ammunition charges. When the case was mentioned, it was revealed that the ballistic certificate was still outstanding.

His bail was then extended. Allegations are that in January this year, the accused was seen along Nugent Street in the company of a female. He was accosted and reportedly threw a package to the ground. It was retrieved and seven rounds of 9mm cartridges were discovered.

Further investigations by Corporal Jason Bailey resulted in Smith been charged - he has numerous court appearances. The matter is scheduled to be heard next on October 14, 2014.
