It was cold and raining but Kemar Bailey-Cole's hot streak continued yesterday with another win over Asafa Powell in the 100 metres, this time at the IAAF World Challenge in Zagreb.

The Commonwealth Games double gold medallist was the only Jamaican winner on the night and remains unbeaten since claiming gold in Glasgow.

Running in lane six, Bailey-Cole, was over the last 20 metres, in lock-step with Powell to the line to win in 10.07s against a slight headwind of 0.07m/s, the same time that was accredited to the former world record holder who ran in lane five.

American Mike Rogers (10.10) finished third in the field that included Chijinu Ujah (10.26), Ryan Bailey (10.27), Richard Thompson (10.31), and Kim Collins (10.32). Bailey-Cole's countryman Sheldon Mitchell seemed to have been injured as he finished eighth in 13.62s.

Andrew Riley (13.61) finished sixth in the men's sprint hurdles won by Russia's Sergey Shubenkov (13.39) ahead of Cuba's Orlando Ortega (13.42) and the USA's Ronnie Ashe (13.52). Edino Steele fared even worse in the 400m finishing eighth in a disappointing 48.66 in the race won by England's Martyn Rooney 45.49. Rooney managed to turn the tables on Botswana's Isaac Makwala, who beat him in Berlin on the weekend. Makwala's 45.60s was good enough for second, while the USA's Gil Roberts was third in 45.77.

France's Myriam Soumare won the 200m in 22.75 ahead of Joanna Atkins of the USA 22.99, and Great Britain's Jodie Williams 23.09s.

In the women's sprint hurdles Nia Ali took the win with a time of 12.92 over Alia Talay of Belarus 12.99 and Tiffany Porter of Great Britain 13.01.

Meanwhile, Croatia's Sandra Perkovic continued her dominance in the discus winning comfortably with a throw of 65.09m. Germany's Shanice Craft was four metres behind with a best throw of 61.15m while France's Melina Robert-Michon was next with a mark of 60.75m.

Perkovic's countrywomen Ana Simic and Blanka Vlasic secured a one-two finish in the high jump. Both cleared 1.93m but Simic was better on the count-back. Poland's Kamila Licwinko, who also cleared 1.93m, was third.
