|
An ex-constable was arrested and charged by the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) on Monday, with one count of kidnapping, two counts of carnal abuse and three counts of rape. He is 48-year-old Dave Mitchell of a Clarendon address. MOCA is reporting that in 2009, the police began an investigation into allegations that Mitchell had committed the offences between 2004 and 2006 in St Catherine and Clarendon. Shortly after the investigation commenced, Mitchell resigned from the Jamaica Constabulary Force and left the island. Investigators continued the probe and Mitchell was taken into custody yesterday in Spanish Town, St Catherine. He is scheduled to make an appearance in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on September 5. |
