Former gas station employee charged with larceny

Rasbert Turner, STAR Writer

A former employee of a gas company who is answering to larceny charges after he was allegedly caught making unscheduled delivery had his bail extended when he appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Rohan Parson of Spanish Town, St Catherine, is charged with larceny.

When the matter came up in court, Parson's lawyer told the court that he is very confident in getting him acquitted.

It was revealed that the case file is incomplete.

Allegations are that the accused was employed at a gas company.

On the day in question, he was given a truck laden with gas to deliver to a number of locations in St Catherine.

Acting on information, supervisory and security personnel trailed the vehicle to Bog Walk, St Catherine.

He was spotted by his superiors dispensing gas to a person who did not have an account with the company.

When the transaction was intercepted, the accused man was said to have jumped in the vehicle and sped away, causing the security to scurry out of the way.

Police personnel were summoned and the vehicle intercepted, and following an investigation, Parson was charged with larceny.

He is being represented by attorney-at-law Lancelot Clarke Jr. The matter will again be mentioned on September 23.
