Dear Pastor,

I am 35 years old. I migrated to the United States and I left my girlfriend pregnant. I sent her money every month to take care of the baby and herself. I was away for two years. She was not working. I paid the rent. She used to take the baby to my mother from time to time. Sometimes my mother kept the baby for her to get a little break. Then all of a sudden, she stopped and moved from where she was living. I kept sending money to her. She sent me pictures of the baby but not of herself. I didn't think anything was wrong.

One day, I told her to send me a picture of herself and she said I will have to wait a while because she has put on a lot of weight. I told her that she could still send me one so that I could see how fat she has become. One day, a relative of mine ran into her and was shocked to see her pregnant. That was why she couldn't send me any pictures. I called her and asked her what happened to her. She said nothing. I asked her about the baby she was carrying and she told me it was a mistake.

Pastor, I will never trust another woman, because this girl was the only girl that I loved and she let me down. And guess who got her pregnant. My very best friend who assured me when I was leaving that when she needed his help he would help her. I tried to call him, but he does not answer my calls so I am leaving my baby- mother to him totally.

Pastor, am I wrong?

I agree with you. This girl has made her choice. She has no excuse for what she has done. Your friend was not a true friend to you. Support your child, but that is all I would encourage you to do.
