BASSETERRE, St. Kitts and Nevis (AP):

Denesh Ramdin hit a memorable 169 off 121 balls while Darren Bravo struck 124 (127 balls) as West Indies defeated Bangladesh by 91 runs yesterday to sweep their three-match one-day series.

Final scores: West Indies 338 for seven off 50 overs; Bangladesh 247 for eight in 50 overs.

Wicketkeeper Ramdin, named Man of the Match and Man of the Series, slammed eight fours and 11 sixes and shared a record-breaking third-wicket stand of 258 with left-hander Bravo, who lashed seven fours and eight sixes.

The pair came together with the hosts, who won the toss, in trouble at 12-2 in the fifth over. When they were parted 258 runs later the two had featured in a record stand for the third wicket in one-day internationals. It beat the 238 posted by South Africans Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers against Pakistan.

first to reach a century

The 29-year-old Ramdin was the first to reach his century, off 90 deliveries. It was the right-hander's second one-day century. Bravo brought up his second ton at this level a few overs later, off 112 balls.

Their stand broke a hosts of records, eventually being the best ever partnership for West Indies in one-day internationals. The 19 sixes hit in the innings was also a record for the West Indies.

Fast bowler Al-Amin, who led Bangladesh with four for 59, claimed the prize scalp of Chris Gayle (6) while Mashrafe Mortaza began well by dismissing Lendl Simmons (6).

When Bangkladesh batted they were undermined by West Indies swing bowler Ravi Rampaul who bagged four for 29 in his 10 overs. Mystery spinner Sunil Narine took one for 31 off ten overs.

Bangladesh captain, Mushfiqur Rahim, 72 with eight fours, and Tamim Iqbal's 55 (nine fours) led the reply, but the tourists were never realistically in with a chance.
