Let's Talk About Vaginas |
|||||
Question Dear Dr. Sexy, I am self conscious when me and my boyfriend are having sex and I get really wet. It feels weird and I think he's going to be turned off by it. How can I make it stop? Dawn, Ocho Rios Dear Dawn, Getting wet during sex is a good thing. Your body is preparing for penetration, which make it more comfortable and pleasurable for you and your partner. Plus it's an indication that you like your partner. Get familiar with your body and you will learn that it's nothing to be ashamed of. Good luck and stay sexy, Dr Sexy It's the place where life comes from, the epitome of femininity, the most sought after body part, the source of pleasure and pain - the vagina. A mysterious canal to some, a subject of much praise and adoration to others, the vagina is very important to human existence. But how much do we know about this mystifying cavern? Why do so many men lose their fortunes, relationships and minds because of it? With all its appeal, there is still a lot we don't knew about the vaginas. It's surprising how much myths and misinformation there is about the female genitalia. So here are a few facts to ponder on: 1. The entire female genitalia are not called the vagina - the vagina is the internal organ that starts at the vaginal opening and ends at the cervix (the neck of the womb). 2. The clitoris has over 8000 nerve endings and is located between the labia minora under the clitoral hood. The clitoris' function is for her pleasure. The clitoris has more than twice the nerve endings as the penis; women should have twice the fun, right? 3. The average vagina is 3-4 inches long, contrary to popular belief, there is limit to the length of the vagina. It does not connect to the abdomen and you will not lose items in there. As far as size, the vagina can expand wide enough to deliver a baby which is pretty big. 4. It self lubricates - When a woman becomes aroused, the vagina secretes lubrication to allow for the insertion of the penis and this makes it comfortable for her as well as pleasurable for both partners. 5. Only about 30 per cent of women orgasm through vaginal stimulation alone. Most women orgasm through clitoral stimulation. 6. Yes some women do ejaculate - For a lot of persons female ejaculation seems farfetched - even impossible. The truth is, the paraurethreal gland engorges with fluid during sexual stimulation and that is where the ejaculate comes from. 7. The vagina self cleans - Protect your Ph balance, don't douche. A healthy vagina does not have an odour or coloured discharge, so if you have any of these symptoms, visit your doctor immediately. 8. Lube up for pleasure (use water-based lubricants as they work better with your Ph) especially when using condoms. The vagina does not have to be a mystery. There are still women who d not know enough about their vaginas. To them, I say get a mirror and a flashlight and take a look at your goodies. Touch it; see what happens when you become aroused. You will be very happy you did. Have fun and stay sexy. Send your questions or comments to sexchatwithshelly@gmail.com or Tweet me @drsexylive or Facebook www.facebook.com/allaboutthesexy |
