MARC STAMP, STAR Sports Jamaica Tallawahs all rounder André Russell predicts that his team will get better with each game in the quest to retain the Limacol-sponsored Caribbean Premier League T20 cricket title won in last year's inaugural edition. The Tallawahs have won four of five games in the preliminary stage with a victory against Antigua Hawksbills in the first of three home games at Sabina Park, in Kingston, last Thursday. Now, the Tallawahs will look to continue good form when they face Guyana Amazon Warriors today. Both teams are in joint second place in the six-team tournament on eight points apiece, two adrift of leaders Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel. Russell, who is a top all-rounder in the shortest format of the sport, said "It's all about improvement as a team. We have to continue doing well." Experience "We are the champions, so the other teams will be coming at us. I am backing the team's ability to continue winning," the 26-year-old Jamaica and West Indies representative said. Russell believes the overseas players such as Adam Voges, Daniel Vettori, Owais Shah and Rusty Theron coming in has added depth to the squad. "Those overseas guys coming in is certainly a plus. The camaraderie is good within the team, as the coach (Mickey Arthur) is doing a very good job in his first year with us. He gives pep talks. And, Walsh (Courtney) is really assisting the bowlers with his experience. Junior Bennett (assistant coach) is also doing a good job," he added. "It's gonna be very competitive on Saturday (today). We will be against a very good Amazon Warriors team in a crucial game," Russell told STAR Sports. "Our mission is to win all three home games and we started with a good performance against the Hawksbills. Now the attention is on Guyana, then Barbados Trident on Sunday," he added. With regards to his form, Russell says he is not worried and is looking forward to the next game. Russell has scored 56 runs in five matches while he has taken six wickets. "I am really backing myself to come good in the upcoming games, but the focus is on the team doing well," he said. Both games are set to start at 11 a.m., today and tomorrow at Sabina Park.
