Escapee sentenced to six months |

A man who escaped from the Spanish Town police lock-up last year, was sentenced to six months hard labour in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court last Thursday. He is Devon Pryce, 30, unemployed of Spanish Town, St Catherine. On his first appearance he plead guilty to escaping custody. When he reappeared before Resident Magistrate Natalee Brookes last Thursday he was sentenced. The court heard that in March last year Pryce who was in custody on a charge of having sex with a person under the age of 16, cut his way to freedom. He was recaptured by the police in Kingston last May and was charged with escaping custody. Pryce was represented by attorney-at-law Patrick Peterkin. |
