Shifta Mason promotes 'do you wanna' in Jamaica

Caribbean Fusion artiste Shifta Mason returned to Jamaica for a short promotional Blitz to bring attention to his new single, 'Do You Wanna', the title track for his upcoming EP to be released September.

He is based in Florida and has received notable success over the last four years.

Do You Wanna is a dancehall-pop fusion track and features Japanese Australian Pop artiste Chenelle.

It is enjoying a single-distribution deal with Empire Records, an Atlantic Records-affiliated label in the United States, and is poised to be a summer anthem on the party circuit, globally.

While in Jamaica, Shifta made various media and promotional appearances, taking the time to reconnect with friends and colleagues who have not seen him in a while, as he has been notably absent for a few years in the Caribbean market.

"My last EP, released two years ago was EDM driven, and so I was focused on the American and European markets for that promotion," Shifta explained.

"With this new EP, I'm going back to my Caribbean roots with a lot of the beats and the flow, so it's fitting to start this promotion in Jamaica."

The previous EP, Plan B, had collaborations with David Guetta and Lil Wayne and was very successful, propelling Shifta to receive rotation on MTV and an extensive Asain promotional stint.

Do You Wanna shows signs of also becoming popular, based on response, so far, from supporters and endorsements from industry players.

Shifta appeared on television and radio stations and visited weekly sessions.

He completed his stint with a performance in Old Harbour at the FAME Pop Up Party, as well as celebrating his distribution deal with Empire Records with a signing party at Club Privilege.
