Curtis Campbell, STAR Writer
Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall's third-place finalist Duane Besentie, known publicly as Chozenn, has chosen to give his life to God. According to the recording artiste/event planner, he is now a Christian and a member of the Maverley Gospel Hall Church. "There was a call on my life from 2011, basically after the television series, which I stubbornly ignored. But I can't run anymore, God has a plan for my life," Chozenn said. The deejay is also the CEO at Chozenn Media Group Limited, the promoters of St Catherine Jerk Festival and Spanish Town Jamboree. According to the artiste, these events will now be revamped in order to facilitate the new direction that his life has taken. "This decision was ordained; in fact, it's a long time coming. Now is the time to live a life of purpose," added Chozenn. As for his hard-core dancehall career, he said: "That's dead, pittance in secular. I'm proudly saying I'm a man of God." The artiste is working on his first Gospel EP to be called Total 360 which will be released later this year. The deejay is known for singles like Judgement, which featured Konshens and Backyard. curtis.campbell@gleanerjm.com |
