The body of the female, believed to be in its teens, that was found in a community in Spanish Town, St Catherine, on Monday, is yet to be identified.

According to the police's Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), about 8:30 a.m. residents smelled a foul odour and summoned the Spanish Town police. On arrival of the lawmen, the body was found in an advanced state of decomposition.

The cause of death has not yet been determined. Investigations continue.
