The Lord has my back

Elder Glenroy Griffiths - George Henry

GEORGE HENRY, STAR Writer

Name: Glenroy Griffiths

Church: Christiana Gospel Chapel, at Christiana, Manchester.

Position in the church: Elder

How long have you been a Christian? I have been saved for 30 years.

Tell us about when you got your conviction: It all started with the goodness of the Lord. I remember when the Lord just helped me. I was out of a job for a period of about six months and prayed that the Lord provided employment for me. I just thought that I was unworthy of it and asked myself what I could do to show some amount of gratitude. I sought the help of a pastor and told him about my conviction I gave my heart to the Lord then. From then, I have been walking with the Lord and have no regrets about being in fellowship with Him.

What has been your most challenging moment since becoming a Christian? Well, there have been temptations and issues, but it is just for me to remain faithful to the Lord and allow Him to deal with the issues, because there is no issue which He cannot deal with. I think my challenge is to be able to remain faithful to Him and take all the issues to Him.

What has been your most miraculous moment since becoming a Christian? The most miraculous thing to have taken place since I have been saved, happened on the November 6, 2013. A man was sent to my house to take my life. When he came he reported that he saw two angels around me, and he could not carry out the act.

Message to Christians: I want Christians to remain faithful to the Lord, remain committed, trust the Lord with all their heart, lean not to their own understanding. In all their ways, acknowledge Him and He will direct their path. One of the difficulties we are having is that we have so many churches per square mile but few Christians. So many persons go to church but there are few dedicated, devoted Christians, and God is not pleased with that. That is why we have very few of our prayers being answered. The word of God declares that the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much, so the fact that we have not been living consistently and faithfully to the Lord, whenever we pray prayers are not being answered promptly because the Lord is not pleased with our living.

Message to non Christians: The time is right for you to seek the Lord. The word of God says, in Isaiah, 'Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his ways and the unrighteous man his thoughts.'

It is full time that you all seek the Lord because we all will have to face the Creator one day, and He is not coming back as a Saviour, but as a judge. Everyone will be judged according to the things he or she has done in this life. So there is no escape, so you need to decide, right now, and give the Lord a chance in your life because we have never seen the righteous forsaken or his seed begging bread. So trust God and believe Him, change your ways and give Him a chance in your life.
