Taxi man faces no charge for sex with 'movie star'

This week there was much talk about a video recording posted on the Internet which involved a man and a schoolgirl engaged in sexual acts in the trunk of a motor car.

Some people who said they did not even see the video but only heard about it were calling for the man to be arrested and charged.

"This is a schoolgirl and he should face the court for his action," one man said as he expressed condemnation at what the man had done to the girl.

A woman who said someone sent the video to her cell phone described it as the one of the most disgusting things she had seen. She said she could not watch or listen to all of it because she felt so upset and it was not her daughter.

"I have two daughters going to high school and if they get themselves in things like that, I would disown them. I agree with the school administrators for barring her from graduation," she said.

One of her friends said she would not disown her daughter but would have flogged her mercilessly.

"Look how hard I have to work to send my children to school. If my only daughter thinks she is a woman before her time and do any such thing, I would give her some box and kick that for days she could not come out of the house," she said.

One woman who said she watched the video described the incident as "real shame and disgrace".

She went on further to say that "some of these schoolgirls are not going to school to learn to make their lives better, they are only interested in selling themselves for money. I hear some of the schoolgirls talking all the time and it is pure argument about man and who is taking away whose man. This is a wake-up call for all schoolgirls involved in such activities, that the very men they are with will embarrass them".

A man who was not pleased with the way the women were criticising the schoolgirl, queried, "So what happen to the wicked, no good man who put out the video for all to see? He should be beaten and locked up for what he did to the girl," the man said in answering his own question.

"I am not saying the girl should not be blamed, but it is the duty of the man to protect the girl. He should never bring any sex argument to her because she is a schoolgirl. The police should investigate and lock him up for carnal abuse or rape," the man said.

Although several persons have expressed the view that the man should be arrested and charged, so far, the schoolgirl has not reported that she was forced to be engaged in sexual acts with the man. It was reported that the girl is 17. The age of consent is 16, therefore, the police cannot bring criminal charges against the man for having sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 16. The law states that a girl under 16 cannot give consent so a man who is involved in sexual acts with such a minor will be arrested and charged.
