Without a doubt, Novlene Williams-Mills has been the country's most consistent female 400 metres runner over the past five years and come this weekend at the JAAA Supreme Ventures National Senior Championships she looks set to add another title. Williams-Mills has been in blazing form this season beating a number of the world's best over the distance. She has been impressive in the Diamond League series so far with several wins and in the process beating some of the world best in the event. With a season best of 50.06 seconds she has the top four fastest times by a Jamaican so far in the event and with her sights set on her first Diamond League 400 metres title and the Commonwealth Games in July she looks set for another impressive run . It will be interesting to see who takes the next two spots. After bursting on the scene in fine style a year ago Stephenie McPherson, with a season best of 50.54, at the Shangai Damond League meet is favourite to finish second. The most interesting battle however could be for third. Patricia Hall, Anastasia LeRoy . Kalise Spencer and Christine Day should have a battle royal. If Spencer does not double at the meet it should pave the way for Leroy to finish in the top three as she has shown very good form this season. TOP THREE 1. Novlene Williams-Mills 2. Stephanie Mcpherson 3. Anastasia Leroy |
