Accused murderer gets bail extension
Christopher Thomas, STAR Writer

WESTERN BUREAU:

The case against Odane Davis, who is charged with the 2013 shooting death of Flankers resident Oneil 'Yankee' Brown, in St James, was set for hearing on August 12 when he appeared in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court, Wednesday.

Davis, 24, who is of Providence Heights, in Flankers, was given the return date after the court was told that the prosecution's case file was ready to proceed to trial.

The allegations are that on November 30, 2013, four men went to Brown's home, following which explosions were heard. Brown was later found lying in blood inside his house. Subsequent police investigations led to Davis being arrested and charged in connection with the murder.

"The prosecution is ready in this matter, we have eight witnesses and the file is now complete," clerk of the court Shelly-Ann Greaves told presiding magistrate Ann-Marie Granger.

Davis' attorney, Charles Sinclair, asked for the prosecution to provide him with copies of their files.

"You will return here on August 12, and your bail is extended," RM Granger told Davis, before allowing him to leave.
