The case against a St James man, who was arrested last year after paraphernalia connected to the illicit lottery scam was reportedly found at his house, was deferred until July 31, when he appeared in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

Nineteen-year-old O'Bryan Cover, who is from Catadupa, is charged with possession of identity information in relation to the lottery scam, in which it is alleged that, on November 22, 2013, he was arrested after 26 lead sheets with contact information of persons living overseas were found at his house, during a joint police and military operation.

Clerk of Court Shelly-Ann Greaves told Resident Magistrate Ann-Marie Granger that the prosecution's case-file was not ready.

"The prosecution is awaiting a verification of the numbers (contact information) in this matter," said Greaves.

Granger subsequently extended Cover's bail until July 31.
