Following the release of her new single Bang Bang, Ikaya, born Kadian Blair, has made her resurgence on the entertainment scene.

The song opposes violence against women, children and men, urging abusers to break their silence and walk away before retaliating.

Keen on inspiring, the entertainer, told The WEEKEND STAR that the song comes from a personal space, having been a victim of abuse.

"Abuse is not just physical and so I'm not only targeting victims of domestic violence, but the song goes out to victims of all types of abuse," she said.

The music video for the song, which was released last week, has already been creating a buzz in the streets. Directed by Scorpio 21, the entertainer said she wanted the video to be simple with subtle messages, because the song is already saying so much. In the song, she encouraged persons who were suffering from any type of abuse to love themselves enough to walk away.

"Before someone dies, just try and get out of the situation. You do not have to stay there, walking away is the best decision you will make."

She also revealed that she was currently in the process of planning for two promotional tours in the coming months. A number of new singles and videos are also in the works as the artiste says she is keen on putting out more positive music.

Acknowledging that, as an entertainer, she is a role model, Ikaya said it was important that artistes use their influence to inspire change. She also expressed how happy she was with the response to the song. "I am touched by the impact it is having and I will continue to inspire, uplift and motivate."
