A man found in possession of over one thousand SIM cards had his bail extended when he appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday. Charged with unlawful possession of property is Crofton Gavin, of a Montego Bay address. Allegations are that on the day in question, the accused was observed by police personnel acting suspiciously in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew. Upon approaching the accused, a search of his person unearthed roughly 1441 SIM cards. Gavin reportedly failed to adequately explain how he came in possession of the items. Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey ordered the accused to return on July 15 for a mention hearing pending outstanding statements from two telecommunications companies. |
