The story dubbed, 'Who's the Baby Daddy?' was selected as the Paternity Puzzle winner for the month of May. Last month, 19-year-old Tanesha Elliotand 29-year-old Everton Bennettcontacted our office in hopes that a DNA test could put their minds at ease so they could continue with their relationship. Bennett and Elliot told THE STAR that they met about two years ago through a mutual friend. They began dating, and about three months into their relationship, Elliot became pregnant and gave birth to a baby girl. But things started to go awry in their relationship prior to Elliot giving birth, after she admitted that another man could possibly be her child's father. Elliot: "Before we got into the relationship, I was dating someone else. He (Bennett) was aware of it. When I found out I was pregnant, I told him that I wasn't sure because of the person I was dating." Bennett: "We met in November 2012, began dating and having unprotected sex until January. I didn't see her again all of January and February, start hearing from her in the late part of March, she was honest to tell me she was having sex with someone else when we separated in December. She told me she was pregnant and said she thinks it's mine in March." Last month, THE STAR asked the pair if they were still in a relationship. Bennett: "Yes, we still together, the DNA is what's causing the problem in the relationship." Elliot: "At the moment, still not sure because we want to do the DNA test, we want to be in a relationship with each other, we want it to work." But since the last time THE STAR spoke to couple, Elliot revealed to THE STAR that the two have had a change of heart and are no longer in a relationship. Elliot: "We are no longer in a relationship, because I went by his house and his parents were saying things, so I never went back." THE STAR had also asked the pair who the child resembles. Bennett: "The child resembles the mom and her side of the family, I don't really see the child on me." Elliot: "She fava him, even has his ears, he's tall and she's tall also, she has nothing for the other person." Elliot had also revealed to THE STAR that her daughter is not registered in Bennett's name, but instead, her sister's. Elliot: "She is registered in my sister's name. While we were in the relationship, he was acting up, so I registered her in my sister's name and decided to move on with my life." Bennett: "The child is not in my name, we were having some issues in the last part of her pregnancy because of the same 'whose baby' issue, so when she had the baby, we weren't contacting each other then." Both had told THE STAR that they would like the DNA results to declare Bennett as the child's biological father. THE STAR asked the pair what would happen if the DNA results should prove however, that Bennett is not the father. Elliot: "I will simply just go to the other guy and ask if he wants to do the DNA test, if he doesn't want to, I'll just look after my child by myself." Bennett: "I would really feel down about it."
