Gospel artiste Hezekiah Walker has been named as the international act booked to perform at this year's staging of the Best Dressed Fun in the Son event. The announcement was made at the festival's launch at the Portmore Holiness Church last Friday. There is also a change in the venue for the event's staging. Though originally said to be hosted at Jamworld, the Portmore Town Centre has been confirmed as the venue for the July 12 show. Other artistes scheduled to perform include Carlene Davis, Jermaine Edwards, Andrew Palau, and Kevin Downswell. With just a few weeks left before the actual staging, promoters revealed that marching bands, food courts and a health village would be among the attractions to be introduced at the 2014 edition of the family festival. Also for the first time, the festival will host a Ball Fest, which will have its finale on July 12. In the weeks leading up to the festival, mini-football competitions will be hosted in different communities islandwide and the finalist from each community will compete in the Ball Fest at the grand finale. The day's activities will also include an extreme sports centre fully equipped with dirt bikes and ramps. The event is sponsored by Jamaica Broilers and produced by Tommy Cowan's Glory Music. shereita.grizzle@gleanerjm.com
