A man who felt that an open door was an invitation for entry into someone else's home will know his fate on June 14 when he is scheduled for sentencing.

On Friday, when the matter was called up in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court, the accused, Tevin 'Brown Man' Larman, pleaded guilty to larceny from the dwelling.

The court was told that on Tuesday, May 20, Larman stole $5,000, a bicycle and a Samsung cell phone from the home of the complainant.

Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey asked Larman, "Why did you go in di people dem house?" And he said, "I saw the door open".

Larman further stated that he only took the phone and $2,000.

When asked where they were, he said, "I have somebody watching them".

The courtroom erupted in laughter.

RM Pusey then instructed Larman to tell the police where the items were.

He was then further remanded and a fingerprint order was made.
