Court hears ... Disabled elderly woman beaten for sex |

Laughter filled the air of the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's (RM) Court recently, after an elderly disabled woman appeared, accused of stabbing an elderly disabled man she said was beating her for sex. Charged with unlawful wounding is Anna-Kay Wilson from Hanover Street, Kingston. She pleaded guilty with explanation. guilty plea However, based on the response she gave, RM Opal Smith decided not to accept her guilty plea. The Crown alleges that on the day of the incident, both the accused and the complainant were at home when an argument reportedly developed between them. This led to a physical confrontation and the complainant was allegedly stabbed in the chest with a knife. hobbled into court As the accused hobbled into court, RM Opal Smith enquired of the woman the reasons for her action. She told the RM: "All the while him a beat mi for sex. Mi nuh waan fi have sex with him." With this, the court erupted into laughter. The woman continued: "Mi never mean fi stab him. Mi just carry up mi hand and it stab him." Both parties are to return to court for trial on July 16. |
