Internationally acclaimed record producer/artiste Ricky Blaze is hoping to excite partygoers this holiday season with the release of his newest production called the Uptown Julie rhythm.

The project will be released as a compilation and features himself, Gyptian, Kes The Band and Zoelah.

Ricky Blaze is known for his work on the single, performed by recording artiste Gyptian, which climbed the Billboard charts and was certified gold by the RIAA for sales of over 500,000 copies.

The Uptown Julie rhythm made its debut in the US last week when popular magazine The Fader premiered it to rave reviews. The production was described by music journalist Deidre Dyer as "a sunshine-soaked rhythm that doesn't require more than an easy two-step or, if you've got an able partner, a good slow wine".

Songs like Gyptain's Stunta, Kes The Band's Endless Summer, Zoelah's Sell Off and Blaze's All I Need are already receiving steady rotation on several radio stations globally. Ricky Blaze says the concept of the rhythm came with his observation of Caribbean lifestyle.

"I knew a girl from Uptown named Julie, and, in the Caribbean, uptown girls love the ghetto because they appreciate the rugged lifestyle. So with this rhythm, it has pretty chords and melody with a 'under kick' bass that keeps it gully, that was the train of thought behind the name Uptown Julie," Blaze said.

The producer/artiste is currently working on a new EP slated to be released in the fall.
