Deon Green, STAR Writer

St Thomas:

A two-year-old child is now battling for life in the Princess Margaret Hospital in St Thomas after he was allegedly stabbed several times by a 10-year-old boy.

Reports reaching THE STAR are that about 3 p.m. yesterday, the child was seen by a man lying on the ground on a playing field in the parish with stab wounds

The baby was reportedly at home when it is alleged that the 10-year-old lured him over to a nearby playing field, stabbed him in the chest and abdomen as well as on the hand and left him.

Late yesterday evening, as the parents of the two-year-old waited outside the hospital operating theatre, they said the child's condition was serious and that medical personnel were preparing to transfer him to a hospital in Kingston

The 10-year-old has now been taken into custody and has reportedly told the police what happened.
