Pastor Hugh Solomon is no longer in charge as coach of Red Stripe Premier League title hopefuls Montego Bay United, after parting ways due to personal matters.

Solomon resigned last weekend because he is due to leave the island next week.

"I'm leaving the island next week for about three months, so I won't be around for the remainder of the premier league season," Solomon told STAR Sports, yesterday afternoon.

This was confirmed by Orville Powell, chairman of Montego Bay United, also yesterday afternoon, who confirmed that a replacement was yet to be confirmed.

"We are looking at a coach to take charge. It is most likely that Dr Dean Weatherly could be back to guide the team for the rest of the season," Powell said.

Solomon took over as interim coach after the resignation of Donovan Duckie in January. Now, he has quit to go abroad for three months.

If given the job, Weatherly will have the task to guide Montego Bay to the title. Montego Bay United are on the verge of advancing to the semi-finals, despite back-to-back losses.

The Montego Bay team had an impressive round in the second preliminary stage, but have not done well in the third stage. Mobay have won three games and lost four in the last seven games. Montego Bay United (formerly Seba United) need a point with four games remaining to book a spot in the last four.

Montego Bay are currently in third position on 48 points, behind Waterhouse (53) and Harbour View (51). Arnett Gardens are in fourth position on 45 points, closing out the top four.

Meanwhile, Marvin Tate was in charge of Montego Bay United during their 1-0 loss to Sporting Central at Juici Patties Park in Clarendon on Sunday.
