Bag juice vendors confess to stealing lime wires |
|||||
Two bag juice vendors received suspended sentences on Friday in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court after they confessed they intended to sell cable wires belonging to LIME. Richard Graham, 18, and Daniel Gunter, 20, both of Greenwich Farm, St Andrew, were charged with larceny and malicious destruction of property. They were sentenced to nine months' imprisonment, suspended for three years. Before handing down the sentence, Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey told a representative of LIME, who appeared in the matter, that she didn't believe that the men were responsible for cutting the wires. In handing down the sentence, Pusey took into consideration a social enquiry report on both men. The allegations said on March 7, the police caught the men cutting several cables on Third Street in Newport West. The telecommunications
company said a new theft-detection system resulted in the arrest of the two men. |
