Konfydence making big strides in dancehall music |
|||||
Konfydence Dancehall artiste, Laxia Panton, popularly known as Konfydence, has come a long way since placing third in the 2013 staging of the Magnum Kings & Queens of Dancehall talent show. The talented beauty, who hails from Rocky Point in Clarendon, has always enjoyed being onstage but never thought that she would become a professional entertainer. "I had a bar in St Elizabeth, and sometimes I used to play the latest rhythms on the sound system and deejay for fun. Latty Fabulous and some of my friends always said I sounded good and I should take it on as a career. With their encouragement, I decided to enter Magnum Kings & Queens of Dancehall. Placing third in the contest gave me the courage to go even further," she revealed. Konfydence made a successful recording debut in June of last year with the controversial single Some Bwoy A Bait on the Insight Records imprint. In 2013, she also performed at a number of events, including Manchester Fiesta, the Full Black concert, which was held at Mas Camp. Konfydence is currently promoting a brand-new single called Greatest Wine. The single is accompanied by an eye-popping video, which features Konfydence backed by a group of dancers showing off some sexy dance moves. Konfydence plans to take her career to the highest heights in the music biz. She delivered a blazing, high-energy performance at the recently held Reggae Fever concert. If that performance is anything to go by, then she could very well be the next Queen of the Dancehall. |
