![]() Newly crowned Miss Portmore Community College, Shenelle Gardner (centre), is flanked by first runner-up Ganisha Johnson (left), and third-place Sickola Spaulding. The charismatic Shenelle Gardener, Miss Shae Danyel's Couture, walked away with the biggest prize of the night, the Miss Portmore Community College (PCC) crown. A sum of $37,000 was also donated by the Portmore Municipal Council (PMC), which will go towards back-to-school expenses. Gardener also won a dinner for two and a gift basket, also courtesy of the PMC. She took the Best Casual Wear and Best Talent awards. "I'm really surprised that I won the contest, I honestly didn't expect it. I love pageants on a whole and I'm happy that I won. I'm going to use this victory to sell Portmore Community College in any way possible. I'd like to thank God firstly and my family for the inspiration." SUCCESS Gardner sneaked past first runner-up, Ganisha Johnson. Johnson won the most sectional prizes, in best eveningwear, best executivewear, most intelligent, most congenial. Third place went to Sickola Spaulding. Ten females paraded in eveningwear executivewear, performed a talent and answered questions, in order to become a celebrity in their school and community. At the end of the proceedings, the school's principal, Karen Kennedy, thanked all who made the event a success and congratulated all the contestants for a job well done. The event was put on by the Student Support Services Department of PCC.
