Flow hots customer viewing party

...For Game of Thrones Season premiere

More than 300 Flow customers converged at the Courtleigh Auditorium last Sunday night for the premiere of Season 4 of HBO’s Game of Thrones.

Flow and HBO partnered to host the fan experience and viewing party to reward and thank customers at the occasion, which was the first time an international cable channel has partnered
with a local distributor to stage such an event in Jamaica.

“Game of Thrones is a highly successful series for HBO and we are excited to share the premiere of Season 4 with some of our customers at this special event,” said Gail Abrahams, director of corporate communications for Columbus Communications, operators of Flow.

NEW SEASON

Guests were treated to a Game of Thrones fan experience immediately before the premiere showing of Two Swords, the first episode of the new season of Game of Thrones.

In addition to having the opportunity to win a variety of prizes by demonstrating their own knowledge of the series in a trivia competition, guests were invited to the Iron Throne photo
booth to take their picture for a keepsake photo emailed to them after the event.

Social media played a major role both leading up to the party and during. Many of the guests actually won their tickets by participating in challenges on Flow's Facebook page and Twitter timeline. During the event, fans were encouraged to post images to their favourite social media channels for a chance to win a miniature Iron Throne and other prizes.

connecting

Fifteen minutes before the start of the screening, Donovan White, VP sales and marketing for Columbus Communications in Jamaica, welcomed the eager fans and invited them into the auditorium for the long-awaited event. "This event is just another initiative where we are focusing on and connecting with our customers. We are delighted to be able to create this unique experience for them," he said. "This is a first in Jamaica since no other international cable channel has leveraged its partnership to connect directly with the Jamaican viewers."

Following the screening, fans filed out of the auditorium abuzz with discussion and comments about what Season 4 of Game of Thrones will bring. Some were lucky enough to win yet another prize of one month free HBO. All guests left with yet another keepsake: a cupcake emblazoned with the sigil of one of the Houses of Westeros, the fantasy kingdom in which Game of Thrones is based, and a similarly adorned stainless steel key ring.

Based on the epic series of fantasy novels titled A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin, Season 4 of Game of Thrones picks up the story following the slaughter of three main characters at the infamous Red Wedding.

premium package

The new season will see the return of beloved characters such as Daenerys Targaryen, Jon Snow, and Tyrion Lannister. Fans will also tune in this season to see if King Jeoffrey continues to rule at King's Landing in the shadow of his grandfather, Tywin, and his mother, Cersei.

Game of Thrones can be seen Sundays on HBO, Flow Channel 518, at 8 p.m. In order to ensure that no one misses the action in Game of Thrones Season 4, Flow is extending a special offer of 50 per cent off the HBO Premium package until June 30, for customers who sign up for HBO before April 30. At their own convenience, fans can catch up with the first three seasons and any missed episodes of Season 4 via HBO OnDemand on Flow Channel 1000.
