King Camar, formerly Flavour Unit, to drop album |

![]() Jammy 'Jam2' James (left) and Camar 'Flava' Doyles Entertainer Camar Doyles, more popularly known as Flavour Unit, has reinvented himself, now going under the moniker of King Camar. Set on making his presence felt in the entertainment industry, King Camar has once again teamed up with Jammy 'Jam2' James, son of renowned record producer King Jammy. The pair have been working together for over eight years producing hits for some of the biggest names in the industry, both locally and internationally. Jam2 is producer at Jam2 Productions, which was responsible for creating Vybz Kartel's hit single Beyoncé Wine. The two have started work on King Camar's new album which is slated for release later this year. King Camar, who is also a producer, says both artistes wanted to create something unique and so they began working on his album which will feature a 'yard-soul' vibe that they hope will appeal to persons in all corners of the world. Camar's album will have a classic reggae and dancehall vibe, but will integrate sounds from all over the world. Working out of King Jammys Recording Studios in Waterhouse, the pair explained that the approach was taken to ensure Jamaica's music continues to reach different regions as it will help to promote the culture and showcase the rich musical talent. The entertainers will also give back to the Waterhouse and Dunkirk communities by mentoring the youth on various aspects of the industry and teaching them that there is always a career in various areas of the complex music industry. shereita.grizzle@gleanerjm.com
