![]() Harold Thomas (right), coach of Harbour View, congratulates Romario 'Rum Rum' Campbell on a stunning goal. - File MARC STAMP, STAR Writer Harold Thomas is no longer head coach of Harbour View Football Club (FC), following his resignation last Wednesday. The coach parted ways with The Stars of the East after eight years at the helm of the club. "I resigned from Harbour View on Wednesday. Harbour View is a club that I love and I have deep respect for the people," Thomas told Star Sports, yesterday afternoon. "I will now dedicate my time to family. It has been a while with coaching as an everyday activity," he added. Clyde Jureidini, general manager of Harbour View FC, confirmed that Thomas has sent in his resignation letter, which the club has accepted and moved on. In the interim, Andrew 'Bowa' Hines, will be in charge of the club's senior team for the remainder of the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) season. "He (Thomas) resigned from last Friday and made it official on Wednesday. He is replaced by Andrew Hines, who was the assistant coach. We are in the height of competition, so we have moved on," Jureidini said. Defending champions Harbour View are currently in third position in the RSPL, with six games remaining in the preliminary stage. The club led the 12-team standings for a long time last year, but have been struggling since January. Harbour View were eliminated from the Caribbean Football Union Club Championship after losing both games in group stage at Harbour View, last month. Thomas, who worked with the junior team, was elevated as head coach following the resignation of Vin Blaine, who led the team to the RSPL title last season. |
