x-rated books of the Bible

Dear Pastor,

There are so many unnecessary x-rated materials hidden in the Bible. One example is the whoredoms Aholah and Aholibah. That doesn't tell me anything worthwhile. The entire Old Testament and most of the New Testament are x-rated and full of nonsense and should not be read especially by a child. The Easter movies should also be banned.

Unbeliever

Dear Unbeliever,

I do not know of any passage in the Bible that should be considered as being x-rated. You write as someone who does not understand how to interpret Scripture. The story of Aholah and Aholibah is a parable of adultery.

These names (Aholah and Aholibah) represent two cities, Jerusalem and Samaria. The people of Jerusalem thought that they were superior to the people of Samaria. However, God called both of these cities filthy whores. The people of Jerusalem thought that they were righteous and that the people of Samaria were outcast.

The citizens had rejected God and He was showing them that His judgement was sure and that those who rejected Him would suffer the consequence. Because of your ignorance of the understanding of Scripture you called this x-rated.

You speak like a fool. Only a fool would consider that there is nothing good in the Bible and that the Easter story which is an account of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ our Saviour should be banned.

You speak as an angry person. There is nothing in the New Testament that can be described as x-rated. You are an unhappy person. You need to read the very Bible that you reject and ask the Holy Spirit to deliver your soul from the path of darkness.
