![]() Marlon King - File Reggae Boy Marlon King could face a maximum two-year sentence for dangerous driving after pleading guilty to the offence in a Nottingham court last week. The judge, while ordering an interim driving ban ahead of the player's May 2 sentencing hearing, insisted that "no promises" could be made, after King's attorney, Charles Langley, requested that "alternatives" be looked at to an immediate custodial sentence. The incident, which took place on the the striker's 33rd birthday on April 26 last year, involved a three-car collision and saw a victim airlifted to hospital after suffering from a broken arm. The offence isn't the strikers first behind the wheel of a motor vehicle as in 2002, he served five months behind bars after being convicted for being behind the wheel of a stolen £30,000 BMW. King was also sentenced to 18 months in prison in October 2009, after being convicted of sexual assault occasioning actual bodily harm, following an attack in a Soho bar. King last featured for Jamaica's Reggae Boyz in October of last year, in the final round CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers. |
