Juventus striker Carlos Tevez has admitted that the selection to include him in the Argentina squad is entirely up to the country's head coach Alejandro Sabella but does not seem to hold out much hope of making the World Cup squad for Brazil.

Despite being in a purple patch of form for Italian Serie A club Juventus, netting 14 goals so far for the league leaders, inclusive of some brilliant solo efforts, Tevez is yet to feature in the plans of Sabella.

Things look particulary bleak for the player following the most recent omission from the squad for Argentina's match against Romania on Wednesday.

"I don't think my goals can convince Sabella to take me to the World Cup," Tevez said recently.

"It's only Sabella's choice. I don't know if it's a political choice. I think it all depends on Sabella."

However, with a wealth of attacking talent at his disposal, which includes the likes of world's best player Lionel Messi, Gonzalo Higua'n, and Sergio AgŸero, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Rodrigo Palacio, Angel di Mar'a, Javier Pastore, Erik Lamela and Ricky Alvarez. An icy relationship with Messi, the fulcrum of the team, throughout the qualifiers is not likely to help the situation.

As a result, the player is unlikely to make a 62nd appearance for the country. The player's last appearance came against Uruguay in the Copa America quarter-finals while Sergio Batista was still in charge in 2011.
