Gibson urges Windies to treat ODI decider like final |

![]() Ottis Gibson - file West Indies coach Ottis Gibson expects the team to approach Wednesday's decider against England as a final, with the team's currently level at 1-1 in the ongoing ODI series. England cancelled out the lead for the regional team yesterday, following a three-wicket win at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium yesterday. Despite putting on fighting display, after a paltry 160 runs after being sent in to bat, the visitors found themselves losing seven wickets, before Ravi Bopara and Stuart Broad led England home. "The way the guys fought was pleasing. One hundred and sixty was never going to be enough, but it was a gallant effort, to get them seven down. Even at seven down, to have a couple of chances to get Broad out that would have changed the game again; but it wasn't to be," Gibson told members of the media after the game. Gibson reiterated that the team viewed the series as a build-up to the next 50 overs World Cup. "I said to the guys today, we building towards the 2015 World Cup, as such, we could use this for World Cup final for us. So we got to get our finals faces, the way we approach finals, and come on out on Wednesday and approach the game as such. We are one game away from beating a team higher than us, and I hope the guys are up for it," Gibson added. |
