GEORGE HENRY, STAR Writer
Annalisa Blake was all smiles recently when she stepped forward and went into the pool at the Sanguinetti New Testament Church of God in Clarendon to be baptised. The 11-year-old Sanguinetti Primary School student expressed no fear as she went forward with other candidates to be baptised by the Reverend Dr Roy Owens, host pastor for the church. During her testimony before she was baptised, the bold student told the gathering that God had spared her life and that she had decided that it was fitting for her to surrender to Him and live a good life as a Christian. She told THE STAR's Life and Times that she wanted to give her life to God and worship Him and that she was proud to identify with the Man who held her life and who was in charge of the whole world. "It is important that all of us surrender our life to the Lord because without God in our life, we will be nothing," said the proud little lass. Annalisa shared that prior to being baptised, she felt like she was an outcast. However, after the religious act was performed by Owens and deacon, Glendon McDonald, she experienced happiness never yet felt in her just over one decade of existence. "I am now feeling so happy knowing that I am now involved in the work of God, and I intend to remain saved for the Lord," testified Annalisa, who is the daughter of Youth Fellowship president at her church, Leona Brown. She said that she intends to go to Heaven when God calls her home, but that she realised that in order to make Heaven her home, she would have to please her Maker in all her ways. She added that she would like all young people, especially her friends, to surrender their life to the Lord so that they, too, could be in Heaven with the Him when He returns for His chosen people. Blake proudly shared that she loved the Lord with a passion because He was the one who created her and saved her from her sins. She said Jesus died on the cruel cross for her, and if He could do that for her and others, then it was important that she at least make the important sacrifice to live and work for Christ. She added that in order for her to remain saved, she would worship him, pray a lot, and live well with all people. Feedback: pehenrya@hotmail.com |
