I-Octane rocks Caymanas Live

I-Octane

Popular entertainer I-Octane kicked off the first of the McKay Security-sponsored Caymanas Live series of shows at the track on Wednesday and left his fans begging for more.

Reeling off hits such as Happy Time, We Love the Vibes, No Romp wid Wi and Dem A Pree, I-Octane took the stage after the seventh race and immediately had the crowd swaying to his lyrics.

He continued his set after the ninth and final race, and in the end, said he was thrilled by the reception from racing fans. He disclosed that this was his first visit to Caymanas Park and it won't be his last.

growing list

I-Octane joins a growing list of artistes who have showcased their talents at Caymanas Park over the years. They include Vybz Kartel, Mavado, Busy Signal, Elephant Man, Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Gyptian, Aidona, Christopher Martin, Romain Virgo, Coco Tea, George Nooks, Ken Boothe, Freddie McGregor, Fantan Mojah, Chuck Fenda, Macka Diamond and D'Angel.

David Hobson, executive director of marketing, Caymanas Track Limited, said a lot of positives came out of the promotion.

"The feedback from the fans was encouraging, and I think we are on to a good thing, judging from the crowd support.

"Horseracing is embedded in the Jamaican culture just as reggae and dancehall music, and we are looking to the next show in March," he said.

Also on hand was Jason McKay, CEO of McKay Security.
