Following a three-night operation in St Thomas, the Jamaica Public Service has reported that more than 400 illegal throw-up lines were removed, and 27 persons were arrested by the police, with four receiving summons to appear in court.

Oswald Smiley, JPS parish manager, highlighted the areas which were targeted, which included Hill Side, Seaforth, Danvers Pen, Dalvey and Johnson Mountain.

The operations are part of an ongoing programme by the utility company to eliminate theft and increase revenue.

Smiley has appealed to persons to be regularised as the JPS will be conducting night and day operations across the parish on a regular basis.
