QUEEN PAULA gets the perfect trip to make a winning three-year-old debut in tomorrow's Hot Line Stakes at 1200 metres.

The Film Director-Breathless offspring won her first outing as a two-year-old, beating ALSO CORRECT and HIJA DE REINA in the Winnie Anglin Memorial last September.

Veteran Winston Griffiths, who had partnered her for trainer Lorenzo Robinson, is back aboard the bay filly for her fifth start, her first as a three-year-old, following a decent run in December's Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes.

In fact, her last two races against the best local-bred two-year-old fillies in the land, PRINCESS POPSTAR and BUBBLING ANGELINE, were commendable efforts.

In the Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes at a mile, it was QUEEN PAULA who breezed into second place at the half mile, behind a 46.3 split, three lengths behind PRINCESS POPSTAR.

She was passed by the runner-up, ROCKETMAN, coming off the home turn before weakening in the stretch run.

Prior to that run, QUEEN PAULA kept BUBBLING ANGELINE honest from start to finish, at 1300 metres, on December 14. She actually led her talented chestnut rival down the backstretch and was only beaten by three lengths, losing second place to the colt MASS EDGAR inside the final furlong.

A steamy pace is expected tomorrow with RIVER MUMMA, DELTA DAWN and WOMAN IS BOSS bound to be disputing the lead.

QUEEN PAULA's threat should be Wayne DaCosta's MISS JUANITA, who was a length and three quarter behind second-place BUBBLING ANGELINE when both were beaten by FORCE DE JOUR in the 1400-metre Sweet Ruckus Trophy on December 28.

However, QUEEN PAULA has a more favourable draw, coming around from post-position five in the eight-horse field, whereas MISS JUANITA, not the quickest of horses, will be breaking from the one hole.

The half-mile should come up pretty fast, and MISS JUANITA could find herself in traffic problems, giving QUEEN PAULA first run on the pacesetters.

DaCosta should get off to a flying start by landing the first two races, 1000-metre straight events, with TRAIL BLAZER and THIS IS IT.

TRAIL BLAZER should outfinish FRANKENSTORM, and THIS IS IT is expected to blind rivals with speed after beating maidens by 10 last week.

The champion trainer should also win the 1300-metre fourth race with ALSO CORRECT, after being outsped by RIVER MUMMA at 1000 metres straight last time out.

HOMBRE could be a 5-1 shot in the third race, where he could use his mid-race pace and run rivals into the ground at 1400 metres. REASONABLE PRESS should start favourite, but his sudden drop to claiming company makes him suspect.
