Caribbean Christian Publications (CCP) has announced the launch of its Lapathon 2014, which will be held at Emancipation Park, St Andrew, on March 22.

This marks the fourth annual staging of the Lapathon, and it will be held under the theme 'Living the Word - run with endurance', which is premised on Philippians 3:14.

The event starts at 6 a.m. Registration deadline is March 14 and there is a registration fee of $500 per person. Organisations that donate $10,000 to the lapathon will receive 25 passes for their team members.

greater turnout

Promising that the lapathon will be more exciting than in previous years, Beryl Roper, director of CCP, says the group is hopeful of a greater turnout from churches and corporate Jamaica.

"We are appealing to churches, corporate groups and the average citizen to join us in Lapathon 2014. By so doing, you will be helping to sustain our efforts in providing biblically grounded and culturally-relevant literature for Sunday School and churches in Jamaica, the region and the Caribbean Diaspora," said Roper.

CCP has upped the ante on prizes this year. For the first time, the largest church/corporate group participating in the event has the opportunity to win a champion trophy.
